The second piece from the Lafiya collection is Sira Ladi (The One Who Shows the Way).
It’s an incense altar composed of three elements: a perforated chimney with a drawer at its base for burning incense, and two benches with brass inlay.
The layout creates a shared space to sit and take in the scent, giving form to the quiet, ritual-like gesture of incense burning.
The piece is a nod to AlUla’s historical role as a stop along the Incense Road ; a place of passage, pause, and exchange. The brass inlays hint at the traces left by centuries of trade.
