The Moroccan-Belgian photographer first picked up a camera to document the people closest to him — his mother, siblings, nieces, nephews and grandparents. Over time, this personal practice evolved into Mousganistan, an imaginary country built from memory, migration, and belonging.
Through images where Islamic aesthetics meet pop culture, Morocco meets Belgium, and private family stories become universal, Mous returns to the things he once kept hidden — and turns them into the work he was always meant to make.
