✨Eid Mubarak from Morocco ✨ Limited Edition Sculptural Vases – Dm for info
Since working in a temporary space in Marrakech, I’ve been navigating the challenges of the temperature rising, which led to many of my sculptures cracking as they dried. I was getting pretty frustrated for a while by the growing ‘graveyard’ of broken pieces.
In Moroccan there is an expression used in unfortunate events ‘Fiha Khair’, which means ‘it has blessings’. It reminded me to relook at the pieces and work with process instead. I worked with a local artisan in Ourika for glazing and I am so pleased with the results.
The design echoes a believed link between Islamic geometric patterns and connection to flora geometry – seeing this emerge from the 8- pointed Khatam star felt like pure serendipity.
I’ll be making a limited edition of these in the next few weeks. DM for details or to secure a piece. Please share on IG if you know someone who would love one!
Through this, I’ve had to relearn how to work with clay in this environment. Very different from the london studio, but all part of the journey. ✨
