Following a six-week residency in AlUla, Saudi Arabia, as part of the AlUla Design Residency and Art Festival 2024, Hall Haus developed Haus Dari, a modular seating system conceived as a dialogue between cultures, domestic rituals, and contemporary living. Our time in AlUla allowed us to immerse ourselves in a territory shaped by more than 5,000 years of history, craftsmanship, and social traditions. Inspired by the way local communities inhabit public and private space during the cooler winter months — gathering outdoors in deserts, courtyards, and shared areas with carpets, cushions, trays, and low seating arrangements — we explored how these collective spatial practices could inform a contemporary furniture piece.
