Amine Asselman, born in 1989 in Tetouan, is an artist and PhD in Contemporary Art whose work reinvents Moroccan zellige, a unique craft inscribed on UNESCO’s cultural heritage list.
Through his project Metamorphosis, he explores infinite geometric forms, blending mathematics, science, and art to transform zellige into a contemporary visual language. His series MUSAIC pays tribute to Andalusian music, translating its rhythms into visual compositions that elevate architecture and design.
A dedicated advocate for the preservation of Tetouan’s zellige, Amine doesn’t just safeguard this centuries-old art form—he breathes new life into it with handmade glazes and a profoundly modern vision.
