Sara Ouhaddou (@ouhaddou_sara) is a French-Moroccan artist working between Morocco and France. Her practice bridges traditional craftsmanship and contemporary art, reinterpreting cultural heritage through new perspectives.
Ouhaddou studied at École Olivier de Serres, Paris, and has exhibited at institutions including Museo Reina Sofía, Centre Pompidou, Manifesta Biennial, and Palais de Tokyo. She has also participated in residencies such as Villa Albertine, IASPIS Stockholm, and Art Explora x Cité Internationale des Arts.
In her upcoming lecture, Situated Knowledge in Craft Practices: 10 Years of Artistic Research and Engagement, Ouhaddou will reflect on her decade-long engagement with artisan communities across Morocco and beyond. She will discuss how her creative protocols respond to political, social, and geographical contexts, fostering empowerment and autonomy for both artisans and herself. By reinterpreting heritage and shifting from an individual to a collective practice, her work challenges conventional artistic production and highlights contemporary art as a tool for social change. Through these collaborations, she contributes to a broader conversation about art, labor, and self-determination.
