I’m happy to share the first piece of the collection I developed during my residency: « Lafiya: A Rest Point in AlUla ».
Lafiya means rest or tranquility in Bambara, a word that felt right, as the collection reflects how the rhythms, materials, and quiet moments of the oasis resonated with me.
This first piece, Dunan Dalan (The Visitor’s Bed), is an invitation to pause and observe. It’s upholstered in the cyanotype fabrics I created during the residency, using the shadows of oasis plants to build a surface that holds both light and time.
