The Most Successful Typeface in History | Helvetica
In 1957, a Swiss typographer was commissioned to design something the world had never seen: a typeface with no personality. No historical weight. No meaning of its own. Just letters that got out of the way and let words speak.
What he created ended up on the New York City subway, the NASA Space Shuttle, the logos of American Airlines, BMW, Lufthansa, and Nestlé. Apple shipped it on the original Macintosh. It became the subject of a feature documentary and a MoMA exhibition. It was rated the greatest typeface of all time.
And its my personal favorite typeface 🙂
